Dollis Hill, London

A compact yet characterful kitchen renovation in an ex-council flat in Dollis Hill, designed and built by i-wan architecture. Measuring just 2.5 by 2.5 metres, the space has been completely reimagined to maximise both functionality and atmosphere within a modest footprint.

The design features white marble tiles and dark brown wood-effect base cabinets, providing a grounded warmth and richness. Above, white wall-mounted units introduce contrast and brightness, creating a clean and calm backdrop for daily life. Despite its size, the kitchen is fully equipped and highly efficient, with every element tailored to suit the client’s lifestyle.

A window facing the nearby park not only brings in natural light but also connects the interior to its green surroundings. The colour palette reflects this relationship, with earthy tones echoing the outdoor view and enhancing the sense of spaciousness and calm. This project demonstrates how thoughtful detailing and purposeful design can elevate even the smallest of spaces into a warm, functional, and beautiful living environment.
