About Us

IWAN ARCHITECTURE is a chartered practice, founded by Mariam Moghaddam [BSC(Hons) Dip Arch ARB RIBA] and Mohammad Darougheh [BSC(Hons) MA Arch] with a collective experience of more than 25 years.

Mariam is a British architect who has delivered a strong international portfolio of infrastructure projects. Mariam’s experiences have developed a strong eye for detailing and construction systems. She was a finalist for the ‘Best Woman Architect’ of the ‘Women in Construction and Engineering Awards of 2017’ and awarded the ‘Outstanding achievement award’ from University of Westminster in 2019.

Mohammad has successfully completed custom residential projects in Australia and Iran before returning to London, where he now delivers high-quality residential schemes, encompassing re-planning, planning applications, and new builds. He is particularly passionate about evidence-based design, with a focus on biophilic design and neuroarchitecture, approaching his work with rigorous research and a keen interest in exploring innovative ideas.
