Camden
A proposed roof terrace addition to a third- and fourth-floor flat in Camden, designed to introduce private outdoor space where none currently exists. Positioned within the slope of the existing pitched roof, the terrace is carefully integrated to maintain the building’s silhouette while maximising views and natural light.
The design creates a secluded yet open retreat, offering much-needed access to fresh air and outdoor living for the upper flat’s residents. Sightlines are framed to capture surrounding urban greenery and skyline views, while materials and detailing are chosen to remain visually discreet from street level and neighbouring properties.
This proposal responds sensitively to both planning context and lifestyle need, enhancing the livability of the flat without altering the building’s character — a contemporary intervention that adds real value through subtle spatial generosity.
